Senior UX Designer

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We are hiring a Senior UX Designer to lead the design team, ensuring performance, delivery, quality, and completeness. In this role, you will deliver outstanding UX experiences and implement ideas for improvement that benefit the entire team. Our design team focuses on translating complex, open-source software into efficient, intuitive products that transform enterprise IT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research new features and improvements with the open source community and Canonical customers.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape the future of Canonical products.
• Provide direction to the design team, ensuring alignment with product strategy and best practices.
• Develop and promote design systems that enhance consistency and efficiency.
• Address systems-level problems with interconnected constraints.
• Lead end-to-end design processes for various challenges.
• Shape one of our working groups to drive Canonical design initiatives.

What We Are Looking For:

• Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or a related field, or a compelling alternative background.
• Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology, and design.
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement; must be curious, flexible, and scientific.
• Result-oriented with a drive to complete tasks and celebrate successes.
• Strong engagement with user research practices and design innovation.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Work Conditions:

• This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.
