In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the open-source community and Canonical customers to research new features and improvements.
- Working alongside product managers and engineers to shape the future of Canonical products.
- Evolving and promoting design systems that drive consistency and efficiency.
- Providing direction to the design team, ensuring our efforts align with product strategy and best practices.
- Interacting with the open-source community to encourage the adoption of features and designs.
UX designers should excel in communication, confidently engaging with a diverse mix of engineers, designers, and executives. They are expected to present their design positions with clarity and precision and to take on complex design challenges while aligning their leadership with the company's strategic vision.
Requirements:
- Excellent academic results at school and university, with a Bachelor's or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or a related STEM field.
- A strong passion for user experience, technology, and design.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, demonstrating curiosity and flexibility.
- Confidence in user research practices and engagement with the latest design research and innovation.
