Senior Virtualization Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Virtualization Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team on a 3-month onsite contract in Dammam, KSA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise-grade virtualization environments. This role demands strong expertise in leading virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V, coupled with the ability to lead projects, ensure compliance, and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance virtualization solutions.
• Lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of virtual environments across compute, storage, and networking layers.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to virtual machines, storage integration, and network connectivity.
• Collaborate with cloud, network, and security teams to ensure seamless interoperability.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure adherence to IT governance, security standards, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V).
• Strong knowledge of storage systems, networking, and enterprise server hardware.
• Experience with automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible, PowerCLI, or Terraform.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid cloud integration.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and DevOps methodologies.
