Responsibilities:
- Identify team priorities and lead initiatives for improvement.
- Design, implement, test, and document software solutions.
- Debug issues encountered by users.
- Lead code and architectural reviews within the engineering process.
- Contribute to technical documentation.
- Deploy and operate services developed by the team.
- Advocate for technical success of the products.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong technical quality standards with an eye for architectural solutions.
- Excellent soft skills; you should be passionate, self-motivated, and organized.
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM is preferred.
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
- Professional written and spoken English is required.
- Ability to travel twice a year for company events for up to two weeks each.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with container technologies such as LXD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of REST API design, development, and governance.
- Prior performance engineering and security experience.
Work Conditions:
This is a full-time, remote position with the possibility to travel twice a year for company events. Canonical fosters a distributed work environment, with in-person team sprints occurring twice a year.
