The company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dubai, UAE. In this pivotal role, you will tackle complex engineering challenges and determine the most efficient and economical solutions to meet project objectives. You will leverage your advanced engineering techniques and analyses within your discipline and may act as a technical consultant for management or clients. The position may require the use of CAE (computer-aided engineering), CAD (computer-aided design), or GIS (Geographic Information System) applications.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring significant manpower and financial investment.
- Lead other engineers and design personnel to achieve technical excellence and foster growth within the Quality Improvement Process.
- Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
- Collaborate with CAD designers/drafters on project work, and perform CAD tasks using specialized 3D software for model creation.
- Ensure design compliance with applicable codes and regulations, providing the necessary professional engineer's seal and signature as required.
- Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data, witness shop tests, and assist in assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
- Develop operation and maintenance plans, standard operating procedures, and O & M manuals, and may conduct on-site personnel training.
- Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations; perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM), and safety analyses.
- Maintain involvement with professional societies to stay current with technologies.
- Independently design collection, conveyance, and disposal of pressure networks.
- Prepare hydraulic models for pressure networks, draft design reports, and utilize design software such as Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGEMS, Bentley Hammer, and WANDA. Knowledge of software like Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, and GIS is preferred.
- Be familiar with load demand calculations for private and government projects. Knowledge of Water/Irrigation/Firefighting Authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, DM) in the Gulf region is necessary.
- Understand the planning, design, and construction of water supply systems including water treatment, pumping systems, and intake structures.
- Generate utility cross sections to meet local authorities' requirements (e.g., RTA, DMT, MOMRA).
- Prepare technical specifications and design reports according to British and American codes, as well as DEWA/DM regulations for wastewater systems.
- Liaise with service providers for obtaining NOCs and design approvals.
- Assist in budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedules.
- Recommend and prepare technical papers.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) with 8-12 years of related design experience in water/wastewater/wet utilities projects; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Ability to perform in a lead capacity with excellent written and oral communication skills; familiarity with industry practices and regulations is essential.
- Thorough knowledge of current technology and the ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects.
- UAE experience is preferred.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Advanced engineering knowledge in the design of urban water supply and irrigation systems. Knowledge of CAD (Civil 3D) and related PC software essential in wet service engineering is required. Familiarity with advanced software like Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, and GIS is preferred.
- Regional/international experience in the design and management strategies of water systems is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
- Experience in providing on-the-job training and mentoring in pressure system design and management skills.
