Senior Wintel Engineer

We are hiring a Senior Wintel Engineer (L3 SME) to support and lead our mission-critical Windows Server and virtualization platforms. This role is essential to ensure uninterrupted availability of clinical systems including EMR, PACS, RIS, LIS, and ERP. The primary responsibility is to guarantee the stability, security, patching, and recoverability of the underlying Windows estate.

Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time, 24x7 on-call rotation, including weekend/overnight maintenance

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operations, lifecycle, hardening, and patching.
• Manage VMware vSphere / Hyper‑V / Nutanix AHV clusters and storage-attached services.
• Handle L3 incident response, root cause analysis, and major change execution.
• Oversee backup & recovery processes (Veeam/Commvault/Rubrik) and disaster recovery validation.
• Ensure compliance with ADHICS v2, DoH, and internal cybersecurity controls.
• Support hybrid integrations with Azure (Arc, ASR, Backup).
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years in Windows Server engineering; 3+ years in L3 operations.
• Expertise in Windows Server, virtualization, failover clustering, PowerShell, patching (WSUS/SCCM/MECM), and SAN/NAS.
• Experience in regulated, mission-critical environments (healthcare preferred).
• Strong knowledge of monitoring tools (SCOM, SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow/Remedy).

Certifications:

• Mandatory:
  • Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (AZ-800/801) or MCSE
  • VMware VCP-DCV or Nutanix NCP-MCI
• Preferred:
  • Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
  • ITIL 4
  • ISO 27001/ADHICS
  • VMCE
