We are seeking exceptional Senior+ Engineers (Senior/Staff/Principal) who not only excel in software architecture and coding but also possess the leadership skills necessary to guide teams in delivering outstanding products. In this role, you will contribute significantly to Canonical's portfolio, engaging in the architecture and design of impactful open-source software across our tech stack, from kernel and system software to cloud automation and distributed systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading design and architecture of high-impact open-source projects
- Coding in Golang, Rust, Python, C/C++, or Typescript / React
- Collaborating with a globally distributed team
- Mentoring and advising colleagues on their career progression
- Debugging issues and producing high-quality code
- Contributing to technical documentation
Key Qualifications:
- Exceptional academic track record (Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM)
- Proven experience with technologies such as Go, Rust, Python, C
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and a willingness to travel twice a year for company events
Language Requirements:
Excellent communication skills including professional written and spoken English are essential.
