About the Role
The SHE Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and driving all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) related activities for their area of responsibility. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the implementation of the SHE policy and management system requirements at all operating locations within their scope.

Key Responsibilities
The SHE Coordinator will:

  • Investigate major incidents and accidents, assisting with accident, incident, and significant near-miss investigations as required.
  • Audit SHE arrangements and their application across the business.
  • Monitor SHE performance within the company and the implementation of the Group and Business Unit SHE Policy, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Provide practical interpretation of legal requirements related to SHE matters to managers and staff.
  • Offer competent advice and assistance to staff, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities under the SHE Policy.
  • Provide guidance across business areas and sectors on compliance with the SHE Policy, Framework, and Standards.
  • Oversee and support SHE Coordinators within their areas of responsibility, aiding in the application and delivery of SHE policy and Standards at operational locations.
  • Assist risk assessors and participate as a member of the Risk Assessment Team when necessary.
  • Offer expert advice concerning the safety aspects of local legislation, approved codes of practice, and standards, including information from relevant professional bodies impacting operations.
  • Maintain the integrity of data on the SHE Intranet Site and Reporting metrics, ensuring validations, accuracy, and currency through audits.
  • Support area managers or SHE Managers by providing centralized competent advice on all SHE issues, ensuring application consistency across the company.
  • Conduct Contractor Assessments of Service Contractors as defined within the Standard process.
  • Provide competent advice during SHE Committee Meetings.
  • Assist in attaining and maintaining relevant international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Deliver mandated training as outlined in the "SHE Training" documents, which includes SHE Induction for new arrivals and transferees, BeSafe, Fire Awareness, and Fire Warden Training.
  • Develop and deliver workplace-specific training courses, such as Manual Handling (MH), Working at Height (WAH), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), and Risk Assessment (RA), identified through risk assessments, accident investigations, trends analysis, or specific programs.

Job Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate appropriate qualifications and experience, and be eligible to register with the MHRSD as either an Occupational Health & Safety Practitioner or as a Professional per Ministerial Decision 76509. The SHE Coordinator should possess technical knowledge of sufficient depth to support all aspects of the business they are involved in.

Technical experience should include:

Experience in the aviation industry, military engineering, systems support, and operational support services is desirable.
