We are seeking a talented professional with extensive experience in the Power & Transmission Industry, specifically in HV GIS Substation construction projects at 400 kV and 132 kV voltage levels. The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years of experience post-graduation, including a minimum of 5 years focused on GIS Substation projects. Familiarity with DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) Substation projects will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Supervise civil construction works of 400 / 132 kV substations during the execution stage, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and materials.
- Prepare daily site reports to monitor the civil progress activities of EPC Contractors.
- Attend progress meetings with contractors and consultants as required to support your team leader.
- Follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual per Authority safety standards.
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility both individually and as a team player, showcasing excellent interpersonal skills.
- Scrutinize and approve method statements for each activity, ensuring work proceeds only according to the method statement.
- Coordinate with main and subcontractors to ensure civil construction adheres to contractual terms and maintains quality standards.
- Provide approvals for method statements, work procedures, and RFIs.
- Evaluate subcontractors/test agencies/suppliers through physical verification and documentation checks.
- Certify main contractor billing; conduct technical and monthly progress review meetings.
- Witness trial mix design and compaction tests; oversee materials testing including aggregate, sand, cement, and reinforcement steel, providing necessary approvals at the site.
- Maintain quality control of all materials and construction activities, monitoring progress and addressing bottlenecks with clients while ensuring safety implementations.
- Display knowledge of various cast in situ & precast foundations and dewatering systems.
- Be aware of soil improvement methods, including stone column and piling works.
- Manage site activities and interface with other disciplines.
- Utilize MS Office for report writing and presentations.
- Obtain necessary approvals from DEWA (TED Code) and other UAE utilities; this is a preferred qualification.
Qualifications
- B.E. Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Knowledge of DEWA civil specifications, ITPs, and method statements related to GIS substations.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; strong technical skills for producing reports; proficient in MS Office applications.
- Experience in an ISO Quality environment and understanding of quality assurance procedures and audits in coordination with DEWA engineers.
- Strong knowledge of applicable design standards and codes specific to UAE/GCC countries.
Additional Information
This role will be based in Dubai, with deployment to project sites across Dubai/UAE. Candidates must be available to start by December 1, 2026, with applications due by Friday, October 30, 2026.
