The Information Systems team at the company runs services used by over 60 million Ubuntu users. Our mission is to pioneer and prove new approaches to large-scale information systems. You will lead a team focused on delivering quality managed services globally while automating processes and sharing that automation as open source packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead your team in daily agile DevOps practices
- Represent the Information Systems team to stakeholders and customers
- Organize and drive internal projects
- Mentor engineers to enhance their skills
- Implement structured engineering and operations processes
- Ensure the team meets service level agreements with customer deployments
- Deliver managed services in a consistent, timely manner
Requirements:
- Proven experience in software delivery with infrastructure as code
- Experience managing DevOps teams for SaaS or similar offerings
- Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems
- Ability to travel twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
- An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Ubuntu system administration
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
- Experience managing distributed teams
Work Conditions:
- Fully remote role with teams distributed across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas
- Travel requirement: Twice a year for company events
- Compensation includes a performance-driven annual bonus and a personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is expected due to the global nature of the team and customer base.
