Core Responsibilities
- Own the social publishing plan and its execution, providing a clear perspective on the content and formats that are most relevant for each platform.
- Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) and social team to refine hooks, edits, thumbnails, captions, and carousels; take direct ownership of the posts you propose and publish daily.
- Conduct structured tests on various elements like hooks, thumbnails, video lengths, publishing times, and formats; leverage results to improve recurring series, launch new formats, and optimize your time allocation.
- Create comprehensive weekly reports that analyze performance drivers and suggest future actions, sharing these insights with the EIC.
- Identify emerging talents, stories, and discussions within the region's pop culture, music, sports, food, and fashion sectors, contributing timely, platform-native ideas to social planning.
- Experiment with AI and automation tools for functions such as social listening, trend discovery, reporting, clip selection, and creative testing, incorporating effective tools into the team's daily operations.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in growing social channels for a publisher, entertainment brand, creator, or culture-driven business, including clear examples of changes implemented and their impacts.
- Strong analytical capabilities; able to interpret retention curves, differentiate between one-off viral hits and sustainable formats, and translate data into actionable briefs for creative teams.
- Excellent visual and editorial judgment, recognizing when to adjust thumbnails, enhance carousels, or improve hooks for platforms like TikTok.
- Comprehensive understanding of the themes and the cultures represented, as well as an awareness of creators, communities, and cultural landscapes in the region.
- Hands-on experience with platform analytics and reporting tools; confident in building dashboards and engaging directly with data.
- Authentic curiosity regarding AI, with prior experience in developing or adapting tools, automation, or workflows that enhance social media content planning, production, distribution, or measurement.
- Fluency in Arabic is required; experience with a relevant publisher is highly desirable.
