We are currently seeking a Software Architect for Canonical LXD and MicroCloud. The aim is to simplify the process of setting up clusters of compute, be it via system containers or virtual machines.

As a Software Architect, you will be instrumental in the architecture, design, and evolution of LXD, which is a modern Golang system container and virtual machine orchestrator, as well as Canonical MicroCloud. You will lead a team in creating a reliable and easy-to-use cloud infrastructure and ensure the product remains secure and performance-optimized.
Work Conditions:
- This is a home-based position available in EMEA and the Americas.
- The role includes leadership responsibilities, mentoring team members, and developing in Golang and C.
- Global travel to company events twice a year is required.
Requirements:
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Strong experience in Golang and C, along with knowledge of cloud infrastructure and related APIs.
- A background in concurrent, distributed systems, storage, networking, and virtualization.
- Familiarity with container technologies.
- A relevant academic background (Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM).
