The role involves driving the architecture, design, and evolution of LXD and the company MicroCloud, which combines LXD with Ceph and OVN to create a resilient cloud infrastructure. As a Software Architect, you will work across the software stack from low-level kernel work to high-level management APIs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture of LXD and MicroCloud.
- Mentor and develop colleagues.
- Develop in Golang and C.
- Review code and ensure security and performance.
- Display technical leadership within the company and its communities.
- Work from home with global travel twice annually for company events.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic record with a degree in Computer Science or STEM.
- Experience in Golang and C.
- Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and their APIs.
- Familiarity with storage, networking, virtualization, and container technologies.
- Experience with concurrent, distributed systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
Work Conditions:
- This position is fully remote, available in EMEA and the Americas.
- Global travel is required twice a year for team sprints.
