LXD is a modern Golang system container and virtual machine orchestrator widely utilized on various Linux platforms. As a software architect, you will influence the architecture and evolution of LXD, and Canonical MicroCloud, which integrates LXD with Ceph and OVN, aiming to create a user-friendly and resilient cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture of LXD and MicroCloud
- Mentor and support colleagues in their professional growth
- Develop in Golang and C and review the code produced by peers
- Ensure the security and performance of the product
- Provide technical leadership within Canonical and the community
- Work from home with global travel required twice annually for company events
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field
- Experience in Golang and C
- Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and their APIs
- Familiarity with storage, networking, virtualization, and container technologies
- Experience with concurrent, distributed systems
- Strong focus on performance and detail orientation
- Professional written and spoken English
- Preferred experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu)
