We're building an ecosystem of digital products and services that power everyday life across the Middle East—fast, scalable, and deeply customer-centric. Our mission is to deliver to every door every day. Our core marketplace is one of the region’s leading e-commerce platforms, connecting millions of customers with sellers and brands daily. Fast-moving, data-driven, and constantly evolving, it’s where we test, learn, and grow the business across the region.

What You'll Do

You will own a well-defined part of our commercial systems, from design to production operations, and work with the wider team on the rest. Expect to work on a variety of responsibilities focused on the impact on the business.

Scope & responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate scalable backend services and APIs for pricing, promotions, catalogue, and other commercial workflows across retail and marketplace.
  • Build reliable batch and real-time data pipelines that feed commercial decisions.
  • Build systems for retail operations, including buying and merchandising tools, replenishment and inventory planning, and supplier cost and margin management.
  • Turn ambiguous commercial problems (margin leakage, stock-outs, promo ROI) into well-scoped technical solutions with clear success metrics.
  • Build internal tools and dashboards that allow category, pricing, and marketing teams to act on data independently.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to productionise ML models, including serving, monitoring, A/B testing, and establishing clear fallbacks.
  • Ensure quality in production through testing, observability, performance, and incident response.
  • Partner with category, buying, pricing and marketing leaders to develop tools and systems they actively use.
  • Mentor peers and raise the bar on engineering practices across the team.

Key responsibilities by focus area:

  • Pricing and competitiveness: Build the pricing engine and rules service with category guardrails for retail and marketplace, and implement real-time repricing pipelines, integrating ML elasticity models to enhance margin, price index, and conversion.
  • Promotions and discounts: Develop a promotion platform with eligibility and budget controls, plus experimentation to gauge uplift, improving promo ROI and incremental GMV.
  • Retail replenishment and inventory planning: Create services that translate demand signals into reorder recommendations and alerts for stock-outs and overstock, including forecasting models to enhance in-stock rate and mitigate overstock risks.
  • Retail buying, merchandising, and supplier management: Develop tools for buyers and merchandisers that facilitate supplier cost and margin tracking, range planning, and price and promo funding workflows, thereby improving gross margin and sell-through rates.
  • Assortment and catalogue: Construct tooling and data pipelines that identify missing high-demand products and underperforming listings, boosting selection coverage and GMV.
  • Seller and marketplace quality: Implement seller performance scoring and measures for detecting fraud and abnormal pricing, ensuring seller health and customer trust.
  • Commercial data and experimentation platform: Build reliable, well-structured datasets, A/B testing tools, and self-service dashboards for retail and marketplace teams to expedite decisions and enhance data trust.

Who'll Excel?

  • We're looking for people with high standards who understand that hard work matters.
  • You need to be relentlessly resourceful and possess a strong bias for action.
  • We seek individuals with the courage to be fiercely original.
  • Readiness to adapt, pivot, and learn is essential, as this environment is not suited for everyone.
