The company IT is looking for candidates for the role of Software Engineer – Application Support to be based in Dubai. In this position, you will be part of the Application Support function that ensures the availability and accessibility of applications according to agreed service levels and business priorities. You will work closely with the Infrastructure and Architecture & Development departments to build, configure, maintain, enhance, and eventually decommission applications throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Perform 2nd and 3rd line support activities for applications in coordination with the Development Team and Helpdesk.
- Manage incidents, proactive alerts, change requests, and service requests, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture and production processes.
- Resolve incidents and requests within agreed service levels and provide timely updates to customers.
- Participate in application improvement projects and bug fixes in coordination with the development team.
- Produce and maintain documentation on application functionality and support procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), C#, REST APIs, .NET Core / .NET Framework, and DevExpress UI components (WinForms and/or WPF).
- Experience with MS SQL Server, including complex queries and performance tuning (Azure SQL preferred).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-hosted applications.
- 2+ years of production support experience in application development or technical services.
- Familiarity with Incident, Problem, and Change management processes, and knowledge of ITIL best practices is a plus.
- Previous experience in financial solutions within the Supply Chain, Shipping, and Logistics domain is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
