As a Software Engineer for Ceph & Distributed Storage, you will be part of the Cloud Engineering team. Responsibilities include writing high-quality Python and Golang software, debugging issues, contributing to technical documentation, and developing software for the delivery and life-cycle management of Ceph storage.
Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote, International travel several times a year (up to 4 times a year, usually for one week at a time)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar degree
- Experience with modern, maintainable Python
- Familiarity with Ceph storage
- Passionate about technology and open source
- Experience with two or more of the following: Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Python, Go, Debian packaging
- Willingness to travel for internal events
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience operating Ceph clusters in production
- Familiarity with open source distributed storage solutions like Gluster, Minio, or Mayastor
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is typically required; additional languages may be beneficial depending on specific regional teams.
