Key Responsibilities:
- Automate data platform operations to ensure fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and more.
- Provide domain-specific expertise on actual data systems to other teams within the company.
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
- Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to create new features.
- Debug issues and interact publicly with upstream communities.
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on solid solutions.
- Work from home with global travel required for 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python.
- Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
Additional Skills That You Might Also Bring:
- Experience operating and managing data platform technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, Yugabyte, etc.).
- Experience with Linux systems administration and operations.
- Familiarity with public or private cloud solutions like OpenStack.
- Experience with Kubernetes clusters and its applications for persistent data services.
