Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure

The company is building a comprehensive automation suite to provide multi-cloud and on-premise data solutions for enterprises. The data platform team develops a full range of data stores and data technologies, including big data, NoSQL, cache-layer capabilities, and structured SQL engines. This role focuses on creating and automating features of data platforms and requires collaboration with a distributed team.

Location: Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote with occasional travel (2 to 4 weeks per year)

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate proactively with a distributed team to ensure fault-tolerant replication and automation of data platform operations.
• Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code for new features.
• Debug issues and engage with upstream communities.
• Work alongside talented engineers and discuss ideas to find effective solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python.
• Experience in distributed systems.
• A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Additional Skills (preferred):

• Experience with data platform technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Familiarity with Linux systems administration and operations.
• Experience with public or private cloud solutions and Kubernetes.
