Position

The company is building a comprehensive automation suite to provide multi-cloud and on-premise data solutions for the enterprise. The data platform team is a collaborative unit that develops a full range of data stores and data technologies, including big data, NoSQL, caching capabilities, and analytics to structured SQL engines. This role is focused on fault-tolerant, mission-critical distributed systems, with an aim to create the world's best automation solution for delivering data platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Automate data platform operations, ensuring fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and more.
  • Provide domain-specific expertise on data systems to various teams within the company.
  • Create and automate features of data platforms rather than analyze data.
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
  • Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to implement new features.
  • Debug issues and engage with upstream communities publicly.
  • Work with talented engineers across various fields.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python.
  • Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related fields.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Additional Skills (Optional):

  • Experience with data platform technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, Yugabyte, Trino, Superset, Atlas, Ranger, and Redis.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration and operations.
  • Experience with public cloud or private cloud solutions like OpenStack.
  • Knowledge of operating Kubernetes clusters for serious persistent data services.
