Responsibilities:
- Automate data platform operations, ensuring fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and more.
- Provide domain-specific expertise on data systems to various teams within the company.
- Create and automate features of data platforms rather than analyze data.
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
- Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to implement new features.
- Debug issues and engage with upstream communities publicly.
- Work with talented engineers across various fields.
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python.
- Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related fields.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
Additional Skills (Optional):
- Experience with data platform technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, Yugabyte, Trino, Superset, Atlas, Ranger, and Redis.
- Familiarity with Linux systems administration and operations.
- Experience with public cloud or private cloud solutions like OpenStack.
- Knowledge of operating Kubernetes clusters for serious persistent data services.
