The role involves creating and automating features of data platforms, not analyzing the data itself. Responsibilities include collaborating proactively with a distributed team, writing high-quality Python code, debugging issues, and engaging with upstream communities.
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote with travel for 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python
- Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
Additional Skills That You Might Also Bring:
- Experience operating and managing data platform technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, Yugabyte, Trino, Superset, Atlas, Ranger, and Redis
- Experience with Linux systems administration and package management
- Experience with public or private cloud solutions like OpenStack
- Experience with operating Kubernetes clusters for persistent data services
