This role encompasses the creation and automation of features of data platforms rather than data analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with a distributed team to ensure robust platform operations
- Writing high-quality, idiomatic Python code to create new features
- Debugging issues and engaging with upstream communities
- Contributing to discussions and collaborating on solutions
What We Are Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python
- Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
Additional Skills That You Might Also Bring
Experience in the following areas will be beneficial and will influence the role and level considered:
- Operating and managing data platform technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, etc.)
- Linux systems administration and operations
- Public or private cloud solutions (e.g., OpenStack)
- Kubernetes cluster management
