Key Responsibilities:

  • The data platform team is responsible for the automation of data platform operations, including fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and domain-specific expertise.
  • Focus on the creation and automation of features of data platforms rather than direct data analysis.
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
  • Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to create new features.
  • Debug issues and interact with upstream communities publicly.
  • Engage in discussions and collaborations to find effective solutions.
  • Work from home with opportunities for global travel (2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events).

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python.
  • Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data platform technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, Yugabyte, Trino, Superset, Atlas, Ranger, and Redis.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems administration and operations.
  • Familiarity with public or private cloud solutions (e.g., OpenStack).
  • Experience with Kubernetes clusters.
