About the Role / About the Job
We are looking for a Software Engineer – Full Stack to join the Engineering team and contribute to building and improving our payment products and systems. You will work across the full application stack, with Ruby on Rails as our core framework, developing backend services, APIs, web applications, and user-facing features. You will work with technologies including Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Sidekiq to build reliable and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems, writing clean and maintainable code, and collaborating with other engineers, Product, and Design to deliver high-quality features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications and features across the products.
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails.
  • Develop and improve frontend features and user-facing web applications.
  • Design, build, maintain, and integrate RESTful APIs.
  • Work with PostgreSQL to design data models and write efficient database queries.
  • Use Redis and Sidekiq for caching, background processing, and asynchronous jobs.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Write and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration tests.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, application issues, and performance problems.
  • Contribute to improving application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver new features.
  • Participate in technical planning, estimation, and Agile development processes.
  • Document technical processes, system changes, and important development decisions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and development practices.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies and software engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Professional experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience developing full-stack web applications.
  • Good understanding of MVC architecture and software engineering principles.
  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with Redis.
  • Experience with background job processing using Sidekiq.
  • Experience with frontend web development.
  • Experience with Git and version-control workflows.
  • Experience writing automated tests.
  • Good understanding of clean code principles and maintainable software architecture.
  • Understanding of application performance, scalability, and security.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Good command of English.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or high-volume transactional systems is a plus.
