Position

The company is building a new generation of Ubuntu-based container images to simplify open-source application deployment worldwide. These container images will be free to use with long-term security commitments, engineered for performance, security, and usability. As part of this role, you will develop the tools and technology for building and maintaining these new container images, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure the highest quality and a seamless Ubuntu user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Building robust, scalable container images.
  • Developing automated CI/CD processes for building, testing, and publishing container images.
  • Writing tools and tests for assessing security compliance and cloud-native compatibility.
  • Working in Go to deliver new functionalities to container-building tools.
  • Participating in strong engineering processes, including code and architectural reviews.
  • Engaging with the open-source community as a subject-matter expert.
  • Contributing to the knowledge base and writing documentation.
  • Mentoring and assisting in hiring efforts.

Requirements:

  • Experience with software development and CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with container images and containerized operations.
  • Mastery of at least one container management/orchestration tool (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Significant experience with Go programming.
  • Background in Linux systems administration and package management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, a STEM field, or a related area.

Work Conditions:
Full-time, Remote with global travel up to 15% for internal and external events.
