Position

As a Software Engineer at talabat, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) to continuously discover customer and business needs to drive desired outcomes. You will be responsible for designing, writing, and releasing software solutions that address end-to-end problems in your business domain, delivering value in small batches while adhering to engineering standards. You will own and innovate the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and contribute to optimizing your team’s practices to develop into a self-organized and continuously improving unit.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in continuous discovery of customer/business needs/desires/problems to drive desired outcomes.
  • Design, write, and release software as a solution to an end-to-end problem in your business domain.
  • Understand scalability and complexity of your services and own and innovate the entire SDLC.
  • Support optimization of your team’s practices to develop into a self-organized continuously improving unit.
  • Critically question and simplify our tech organization systems, processes, and solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably within an Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring) with predominant languages being .NET, Golang, and C#.
  • Experience in testing with a focus on automated end-to-end quality.
  • Experience in distributed systems architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services).
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience building, maintaining, and improving with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery.
  • Empathetic and able to easily build relationships.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Humble, curious, and open-minded with a growth mindset, thriving on continuous feedback.
  • Understanding of lean/agile values and principles and associated practices.
