Software Engineer I - Backend (UAE National Only)

This position is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow their technical skills under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development:

  • Learn and apply software development standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Read, understand, and modify existing codebases under supervision.
  • Assist in implementing simple features, fixes, and enhancements.
  • Write clean, readable code adhering to object-oriented programming principles.
  • Perform unit testing and basic manual testing to validate functionality.
  • Document code changes clearly for maintainability.
  • Assist in debugging and resolving basic issues with guidance.
  • Participate in code reviews as a learner.

• Collaboration & Learning:

  • Work closely with senior engineers to learn system design and engineering workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team to understand basic requirements.
  • Seek feedback and demonstrate eagerness to improve.
  • Participate in discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and mentoring.

• Governance and Quality:

  • Follow established engineering policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Adhere to coding standards and security practices.
  • Contribute ideas for improving development practices.

• Daily Operations:

  • Support daily engineering activities for continuity of work.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time with a focus on quality.
  • Communicate progress and blockers clearly to the reporting manager.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach.

Qualifications:

• Fresh graduate to 4 years of relevant experience (including internships and projects).
• Strong interest in software engineering and real-world product development.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field required.
• Graduation from a UAE-based university is strongly preferred.
