Software Engineer II - Backend (Shopping)

the company, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is seeking a highly talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our Shopping domain - Checkout team in Riyadh. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Participate in architectural decision-making for a platform used by millions of people.
• Actively engage in migrating our monolithic application to Microservices.
• Design, improve, and secure the overall backend architecture to support significant growth in users and products.
• Work with Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Coach and mentor team members as a senior member of the team.
• Embrace Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, and automated testing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams to understand the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to test coverage, refactoring, and documentation.
• Perform code reviews and debugging regularly.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development using GoLang, Ruby on Rails (RoR), Java, or Python.
• Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, including a solid understanding of ACID principles and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and logging tools such as Grafana.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Experience with monolithic migration.
• A strong testing mindset with experience in writing unit and integration tests.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
