Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, home-based position on a team in the EMEA region
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing elements of the Core Desktop.
- Utilizing cutting-edge Linux container technologies (kernel namespaces, cgroups, apparmor, seccomp).
- Writing high-quality, defensive, and performant code for millions of daily users.
- Engaging with the Ubuntu community for user feedback and insights.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to documentation.
What We Are Looking For:
- Outstanding academic results with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or relevant professional experience.
- Understanding of software development methodologies.
- Passion for technology with a drive to collaborate with motivated colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the challenges within immutable desktop environments.
- Skills in Linux containerization technologies, Linux desktop environments, C/C++, Go, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Good communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Ability to travel twice a year for team events.
