Software Engineer - Java Backend

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer to develop secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications and microservices for enterprise and financial services environments.
Location: Dubai, UAE – Onsite
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
Notice Period: Immediate to less than 1 month preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services following enterprise API and security standards.
• Build and deploy cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure DevOps.
• Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS, and secure coding practices.
• Work with architects, DevOps, security, and product teams on end-to-end solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and participate in CI/CD, code reviews, and Agile practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of relevant backend development experience, with 3+ years in Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and API Gateway.
• Experience with Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of Oracle/PostgreSQL, MongoDB/Redis, and messaging technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience in banking, fintech, payments, digital banking, or financial services is required.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, resilience, DevSecOps, OWASP, and secure SDLC.
• English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.
