Software Engineer l - Backend

About the Role
We are launching a new domain out of our Dubai Global Tech Hub to enhance the intelligence of our DMart network, which includes over 860 dark stores and 31 distribution centers across eight MENA markets. In this role, you will collaborate closely with fellow engineers and cross-functional team members (including product and data) to continuously discover customer and business needs, driving desired outcomes through our software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team to identify customer and business needs, continuously discovering their desires and problems to drive desired outcomes.
• Design, write, and release software solutions that address end-to-end problems within your business domain, ensuring timely delivery of value in small batches while adhering to our engineering standards.
• Understand the scalability and complexity of your services, taking an active role in optimizing team practices to cultivate a self-organized, continuously improving unit.
• Seek mentorship to develop into a product engineer capable of addressing business problems end-to-end.

Qualifications

• Ability to build empathetic relationships with other engineers with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Humble, curious, and open-minded, demonstrating a growth mindset and thriving on continuous feedback.
• Good knowledge of foundational software engineering principles, coupled with some software development experience, preferably with .NET, Golang, or C# programming languages.
• Exposure to testing methodologies with a focus on automated end-to-end quality.
• Understanding of the basics of Distributed Systems Architecture, including Microservices, Event-Driven, and RESTful Services.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, alongside an understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
