We are hiring a Software Engineer - L3 Support to work in a dynamic and exciting engineering role focused on Linux-based infrastructure and applications. You will cover all layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN), OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source applications. This role invites you to demonstrate the breadth of your engineering skills, tackling various aspects of Ubuntu and the applications used by large enterprise customers.

You will engage in troubleshooting and resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software. The role requires maintaining a close working relationship with the company's Field, Support, and product engineering teams, as well as participating in upstream communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex issues related to Ubuntu and other open-source software.
  • Collaborate with the company's Field, Support, and product engineering teams.
  • Participate in upstream communities and develop bug fixes and patches.
  • Review code produced by other engineers.
  • Manage time and prioritize effectively.
  • Maintain clear, technical communication.
  • Travel internationally for team meetings and events as required.

What We Are Looking For:

  • An exceptional academic track record in Computer Science or similar fields.
  • Experience with Linux and open-source software.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, C, or C++.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and solving challenging issues.
  • Willingness to travel for internal events (up to 4 times a year).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • A love for technology and collaboration with talented peers.
  • Curiosity and flexibility in problem-solving.
  • Interest in Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and distributed systems.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English is beneficial for communication with global teams.
