The Canonical Public Cloud team seeks enthusiastic engineers to become Ubuntu distribution engineers. In this role, you will closely collaborate with the Ubuntu Engineering organization to optimize technologies such as cloud-specific agents, web servers, databases, and virtualization and containerization stacks for public clouds. The team works alongside major partners like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IBM, and Oracle to ensure Ubuntu is tailored to their infrastructure, enhancing the user experience while maintaining a consistent operating environment.
As a member of the Public Cloud team, you will contribute to evolving Ubuntu Server, which is the number one operating system in public clouds. You will engage with a skilled team focused on continuous deployment operations to deliver images to end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate proactively within a distributed team.
- Foster a seamless software ecosystem for all Ubuntu users.
- Maintain high-quality software standards by evaluating contributions from other engineers.
- Debug open-source code and team-maintained code.
- Work with the Ubuntu Engineering Server team to maintain and package various software.

- Interest or experience in public cloud operations or architecture.
- Interest or experience in open source maintenance or contribution.
