In the role of Backend Engineer, you will advance our development stack to ensure scalability as we grow to millions of monthly active users across various countries. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining robust APIs, ensuring healthy and monitored services that are designed to scale. You will collaborate with various teams from initial design stages to the resolution of production issues, supporting a wide range of products with a focus on automation, performance, availability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain robust APIs, ensuring their reliability and performance.
- Monitor and automate services to guarantee health and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support products with a focus on reliability, including assisting mobile engineers and business intelligence during sprints.
- Uphold the ambition of creating a leading platform focused on continuous innovation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in the analysis, design, coding, and implementation of web applications using Python and Django.
- 1+ years of experience with API-based architectures (e.g., SOA).
- Experience with high-traffic and large-scale web products.
- Proficiency in web infrastructure and distributed systems, performance analysis, and search infrastructure.
- Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.
- In-depth knowledge of Django and Python, including advanced programming concepts.
- Understanding of database management technologies, preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL, and knowledge of NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, and XP.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
