Software Engineer - Python/Golang - Kubernetes

About the Job:
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems for the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is utilized in various sectors including public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We are looking for a software engineer to join our Kubernetes product team. In this role, you will build operators and add-ons, with a focus on lifecycle management and seamless integration into Kubernetes.

You will have the opportunity to work with the latest features in Kubernetes and contribute to open-source functionality for our end-users. Collaboration with industry peers and partners will be key in bringing the right solutions to our customers. This position is ideal for a software engineer passionate about open source software, Linux, Golang, Python, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities:

• Write high-quality code to create new features.
• Debug issues and engage with the community.
• Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
• Work with talented engineers, including experts in various fields.
• Work from home with 2 to 4 weeks of global travel for internal and external events.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in Golang and fluent in Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
• Passion for technology and collaboration with skilled individuals.

Work Conditions:

• This is a remote position available in EMEA and the Americas.
• Distributed work environment with team sprints in person twice a year.
