We are hiring a Software Engineer for a fast-paced role in Linux-based software-defined infrastructure and applications, covering all layers of the stack, from bare metal to virtualization, containerization, storage, and networking, up to OpenStack and Kubernetes. This position requires a mix of engineering skills to tackle various aspects of Ubuntu and the open-source applications running on it.

The role will involve addressing complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or other open source software. Engineers will collaborate with the company's Field, Support, and product engineering teams, participate in upstream communities, develop bug fixes, backport patches, and engage in code review.

Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)

Work Conditions:

  • Full-time
  • Remote role with teams in all time zones
  • Travel internationally up to 10% of work time for team meetings, events, and conferences (up to 4 times a year)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues
  • Maintain communication with various teams within the company
  • Participate actively in upstream communities
  • Develop, backport, and review code
  • Prioritize work effectively while maintaining clear and concise communication

What We Are Looking For:

  • Professional experience as a software engineer
  • Background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar fields
  • Strong experience with Linux and at least one of the following: Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or other cloud technologies
  • Development-level experience with at least one of Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux
  • Ability to use debugging tools like gdb
  • Familiarity with git source code repositories

  • Interest and experience in Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and related technologies
