Software Engineer

The Software Engineer role involves working on-site in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, under the supervision of the on-shore Software Engineering Manager. Ideal candidates will thrive in an agile team, focusing on a microservice-oriented architecture while demonstrating a proactive approach and a commitment to continuous technical improvement.

Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in JAVA 8+ software development.
• Experience in front-end development with Angular/VueJS and Typescript.
• Proven experience with the Vert.x framework is a plus.
• Familiarity with Ansible.
• Understanding of container technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and practices.
• Technical writing experience in English, with the ability to produce high-quality documents.
• Knowledge and experience of Linux systems is mandatory.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Break down specifications into development stories by clarifying scope, defining acceptance criteria, estimating effort, and preparing tasks for the sprint backlog.
• Develop technical contracts and detailed designs, contribute to architecture, and drive proposals.
• Develop and maintain backend and frontend components using Java 8 (Spring Boot/Vert.x), Python, and Angular/Vue.js, delivering clean, documented code that adheres to team standards.
• Analyze issues, propose corrective actions, and quantify effects on implementation effort and performance.
• Support integration and system testing on virtual platforms, including deploying builds and executing test suites.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD and test automation in cooperation with DevOps, ensuring fast and reliable build/test feedback loops.
• Contribute to team practices, including code reviews and updating technical documentation.

Language Requirements:

• Proficient in English for technical writing and documentation.
