The Server Certification team represents the company to datacenter hardware partners, collaborating with silicon companies, OEMs, ODMs, and internal teams to guarantee a smooth and secure out-of-the-box Ubuntu experience. Achieving success in this role will enhance the Ubuntu experience across more devices. The position promises significant influence on the adoption of Linux in enterprise server hardware across various industries and offers a fun, fast-paced team environment with ample learning and development opportunities. The team primarily operates within North and South American time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the company's open-source testing tools such as Checkbox and Testflinger.
  • Troubleshoot hardware compatibility, functionality, and performance issues.
  • Provide technical support to the company's hardware partners in their certification efforts.
  • Educate partners about the company's tools, processes, and product roadmaps.
  • Assist the company's internal teams with customer deployments of the company's suite of Datacenter and Cloud products that utilize partner hardware.
  • Work from home with global travel 2 to 4 times per year for internal and external events.

Who You Are:

  • Proficient in Python and shell scripting.
  • Knowledgeable about server-class hardware.
  • Familiar with Ubuntu, virtualization, and cloud computing concepts.
  • Confident in a customer-facing role.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with test automation tools for validating hardware compatibility.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
  • Comfortable with virtualization or container technologies such as QEMU, KVM, LXC/LXD, and Docker.

Work Conditions:

  • Remote full-time position.
  • Global travel required 2 to 4 times per year for events.

Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is typically expected for effective communication with partners and internal teams.
