As an Engineering Manager at Canonical, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of remote engineers
- Developing talent through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development
- Managing expectations with various engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
- Advocating and advancing modern software development practices
- Engaging in the engineering process through code and architectural review
- Collaborating with teams at Canonical, the open-source community, and partners
Work Conditions:
- This is a fully remote position available in the EMEA and Americas regions.
- Global travel is expected for 4 to 6 weeks per year for internal and external events.
- Your role will primarily focus on enhancing team performance and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of modern Linux cloud computing technologies, including networking, storage, containers, and Kubernetes.
- A passion for personal development and a proven track record of nurturing talent.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Experience in programming with C and/or Go is required.
