We seek an Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and experience in leading high-quality microservice architectures and performance-oriented teams. The successful candidate will possess deep familiarity with Linux kernel, virtualisation, storage, and networking.
Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Job Type: Full-time, Remote position available in EMEA and the Americas
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a remote team of engineers, promoting talent development through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- Manage expectations with engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
- Advocate and advance modern software development practices.
- Participate in code and architectural reviews.
- Engage with Canonical teams, the open-source community, and partners.
- Work from home with global travel required for 4 to 6 weeks per year for company events.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of modern Linux cloud computing technologies, including networking, storage, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Proven track record of developing and growing engineering talent.
- Focused on timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Experience in programming with C and/or Go is preferred.
