In this role, you will engage with various technologies, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), and networking (OVS, OVN). Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, and Kubernetes, while maintaining strong relationships with Canonical's Field, Support, and product engineering teams. You will develop bug fixes and patches, participate in upstream communities, and manage your workload effectively. Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
- Experience with Linux and open source software
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux
- A commitment to learning and tackling challenging issues
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of work time for team meetings and conferences (up to four times a year)
