Solution Consultant - Banking and Payments

About the role:
The Solution Consultant - Banking and Payments is responsible for positioning the company as an industry leader by leveraging broad banking and payments domain expertise, knowledge of the company solutions and services, and influence in the market. Responsibilities include supporting sales activities and executive-level interactions, providing a holistic view of the company strategy across banking and payments, identifying opportunities, and working with product teams on evolving market requirements. The role supports sales teams with insight into client buying behavior, presents the company strategy at industry events, promotes the company capabilities to market influencers, consulting firms and partners, and contributes to go-to-market activities, pipeline generation, and sales performance across relevant market segments.

Working closely with Sales Managers and Executives across the Middle East, Africa and India who are responsible for business development with prospects and existing clients, you will play an integral role in the sales process. Using broad banking and payments solution knowledge, you will provide business and technical expertise to uncover client requirements, identify capability gaps, and develop, recommend and package the most appropriate company products, solutions, and services through sales presentations, discovery workshops, and demonstrations.

What you will be doing:

• Supporting sales activity including attending meetings, qualifying deals, training sellers, presenting trends to C-suite
• Assists in the development of sales plans and strategies
• Support the development of sales messaging and positioning for the banking and payments portfolio across assigned regions, and provide market input to product strategy and roadmaps.
• Review lead generation from campaign/events, and support the qualification process
• Collaborate with sales engineering teams for customer/prospect requests for information on RFIs and RFPs completion
• Ensure successful service demonstrations and use-case walkthroughs
• Proactively collaborate to share best practices and knowledge. Provide a “big picture” solution-based approach.
• Demonstrate knowledge of banking and payments solutions, markets, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
• Support relevant banking and payments product launches and help define the applicable addressable markets.
• Engage solution engineering and pre-sales teams after qualifying key opportunities, coordinating across multiple banking and payments products and services to provide a consistent client buying experience.
• Collect, analyze and maintain client and prospect requirements, translating them into appropriate company banking and payments solutions and services.
• Support project managers in planning the solution aspects of sales opportunities including cost estimations
• Supporting sales executives/managers to close sales opportunities
• The role requires a strong collaborative and partnership-oriented approach across solution consulting, sales, product management, client engagement, professional services, and the banking and payments lines of business.

What you will need:

• 10+ years of banking and/or payments industry experience
• 10+ years in presales and/or solution definition/validation role
• Experience in selling or solutioning a range of banking and payments capabilities, such as digital and core banking, lending, payments processing, card issuing and acquiring, switching, fraud, financial crime, reconciliation or related services, for financial institutions, fintechs and processors
• Strong understanding of the banking and payments industry, market trends, and competitive landscape
• Established relationships across banks, financial institutions, fintechs, processors, partners, and other relevant industry stakeholders
• Proven track record of involvement in events/conferences/articles/media
• Proven C-level engagement experience
• Ability to create and shape market-facing messaging and positioning
• Requires expert negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Requires solid decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Analytical skills are required to determine client business needs and requirements
• Ability to show established track record of involvement in industry trade groups preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Well above-average written and verbal communication skills in English
• Travel is required
