As a Compliance and Data Security Solution Engineer (SE), you will play a pivotal role in driving compliance and data security across every stage of the development lifecycle. This opportunity will allow you to accelerate your career growth, develop deep business acumen, hone your technical skills, and become adept at solution design and deployment. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll guide customers through secure, scalable solution design, influence technical decisions, and accelerate AI applications and agents into their development workflows. In summary, you’ll help customers improve their compliance and data security posture, modernize their applications leveraging AI, and realize the full value of Microsoft’s platform.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and land Purview solutions end-to-end across M365 workloads and key data estates, building secure data flows that respect the shared responsibility model.
- Run Architecture Design Sessions, workshops, demos, and POCs to prove value, remove blockers, and win the technical decision; transition to deployment with delivery teams and partners.
- Accelerate E5 Compliance usage through discussions on Information Protection, DLP, Insider Risk Management, Copilot in Microsoft Purview, and eDiscovery to improve customer posture over time.
- Advise CISOs and data owners on data governance & compliance.
- Participate in cross-functional teams with account managers, partners, other CSA’s or consultants to ensure smooth handoffs from presales to adoption.
- Continuously develop skills maintaining technical intensity through continuous skilling and engage in technical communities, share best practices, and contribute to knowledge reuse.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience, OR 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
- 6+ years technical presales, consulting, architect or delivery experience.
- Experience designing and implementing Information Security, Privacy and Information Governance solutions leveraging Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Priva, and Microsoft Purview offerings or other DIB industry-aligned Security and Governance platforms and/or solutions.
- Working knowledge and demonstrated skill implementing solutions across the Security Development Lifecycle and integrating security principles, patterns, and practices into the DevOps lifecycle in an enterprise environment.
- Proven track record of leading customer technical decisions.
- Hands-on experience with Core Compliance Capabilities in Microsoft 365 E5.
- Excellent communication, whiteboarding, and stakeholder management skills across security, compliance, and data teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as SC400/SC401/SC600/SC100, AZ500, SC200, or industry equivalents (CISSP/CCSP).
- Experience driving E5 Compliance value (Purview IP/DLP/IRM) and integrating with Defender/Sentinel for measurable risk reduction.
