We are looking for a Solutions Architect (Server/Datacenter) to help drive a new era of computing into the datacenter. This role will engage with key end users and platform and software partners to demonstrate AMD technology differentiators, addressing business needs in real-world usage scenarios. The successful candidate will provide technical support to strategic commercial end-user accounts within their defined region(s) or vertical market(s). You will be accountable to the commercial sales team and the field engineering director for all aspects of technical engagements required to support sales and account objectives, occasionally providing training to teammates as well.

This position emphasizes platform and end-user workload optimization. You will cultivate a deep technical understanding of server processor and accelerator SOC architectures, along with the related software stacks, from enabling platform software through operating systems, frameworks, and applications. The role involves leveraging this knowledge to understand application performance at the node, rack, and datacenter levels to guide customers effectively.
The position supports various sectors, including Cloud Service Providers, High-Performance Computing, Financial Services, Large Enterprises, Media and Entertainment, and Telco Service Providers.
The Person
We are looking for Saudi Arabian Nationals who are either based in Saudi Arabia or in the UAE, with a willingness to relocate long-term to Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation). Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic is required. A good balance of hardware, system architecture, and software expertise is essential. The candidate should be able to prioritize effectively, work independently as well as part of a team, and have a proven track record in building strong internal and external relationships. Willingness to travel up to 40% is also necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Articulate AMD-based technology offerings across multiple market verticals.
- Provide hands-on, expert-level technical assistance to end-users.
- Partner with AMD and vendor specialists to build specific customer solutions.
- Analyze vendor product solutions and evaluate product performance based on customer needs.
- Serve as a technical advisor to sales in the design and integration of customer applications using AMD-based datacenter and client solutions.
- Install and test solutions in-house, as required, to ensure successful deployments and evaluations.
- Lead technical design sessions; architect and detail technical solutions aligned with end-user objectives.
- Design and execute evaluations to ensure quality solutions are delivered.
- Gain an understanding of the competitive landscape and articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition associated with AMD versus its competitors.
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience as a senior-level engineer (or equivalent technical role) with successful experience in a customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated knowledge in at least one market vertical, including cloud computing and high-performance computing (HPC).
- Proven understanding of the server and accelerator software ecosystem, including OS, hypervisors, compilers, frameworks, models, and profiling tools.
- Hands-on experience in setting up and configuring server systems, including software, networking, and storage infrastructure.
- Knowledgeable of the server hardware ecosystem at the node, rack, and datacenter level.
- Experience in application/workload profiling, tuning, and performance assessment is a plus.
Academic Credentials
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent (preferred: Computer Science or Electrical Engineering).
Location
This role covers the Saudi Arabia region. The hired individual may temporarily be based in the UAE with frequent travel to Saudi Arabia until the AMD Saudi Arabia entity is established. Long-term, the role will be based in Saudi Arabia.
