As a Solutions Architect - SkyCargo, you will architect, design, and communicate a system's high-level structural and behavioral aspects to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs in alignment with corporate IT standards and architecture guiding principles. This necessitates engagement throughout the lifecycle of projects by taking full responsibility for the solution architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop optimal, fit-for-purpose, and aligned IT architecture solutions that meet customer requirements. Ensure architecture is robust, appropriate, and high-quality, conforming to corporate IT standards and roadmaps.
  • Develop Enterprise Architecture standards and guidelines in the information, application, and technology domains. Work closely with Manager Enterprise Architecture and other peer architects in the development of technology advancements and adaptation of new technologies and patterns.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, identify and evaluate relevant technologies and tools, and showcase business value by executing Proof of Concepts by engaging relevant IT teams.
  • Establish policy, guidelines, and strategy for selecting system components and their designs. Assess solution designs to ensure they effectively use architectural patterns and adhere to the guidelines.
  • Guide, mentor, and motivate the development team members in adopting good engineering practices, tools, and techniques throughout the development process.
  • Conduct architecture reviews of vendor products as part of the selection process and other critical production applications with Software Engineering development teams.
  • Develop logical infrastructure solutions in alignment with the technology standards. Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure that the physical infrastructure designed meets project requirements.
  • Own, manage, and maintain the architecture roadmap and runways of small-to-medium-sized initiatives, products, environments, and/or platforms.
  • Drive architecture decisions and be accountable for their implications regarding solution costs, delivery schedules, application complexity, technical debt, and overall solution performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent IT-related discipline.
  • 8+ years of Information Technology experience with 5+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, complex, distributed, mission-critical applications in heterogeneous environments.
  • Hands-on experience in detailed business system architecture and design technical leadership across groups of technical architects and senior developers.
  • In-depth understanding of one or more technologies such as Java, Springboot, React, Next.js, Node.js, and databases including Maria DB, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong grasp of Architecture Methods, Principles, and Patterns (Domain-Driven Design, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Cloud-Native).
  • Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies such as SCRUM and Scaled Agile.
  • Preferably good understanding and experience of airline and air cargo domain.
