Position

The Solutions Engineer, also known as a Pre-sales Consultant or Sales Engineer, is a pivotal technical role within the sales team. As a product and market expert within one or more product lines of the Fortra portfolio, the Solutions Engineer collaborates with leading global companies to guide them through the sales process by identifying their technical and business requirements. You will demonstrate product capabilities and design tailored solutions that best meet customer needs.

In this role focusing on Data Protection, you will manage pre-sales activities for various solutions from the Fortra portfolio, including Digital Guardian DLP, Data Classification, and Fortra Cloud Data Protection, while also gaining insights into other cybersecurity solutions such as Clearswift Email Gateway, GoAnywhere MFT, and Agari.

This position is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates and will entail occasional travel, approximately 10-30% of the time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating closely with sales representatives on activities with prospective customers.
  • Conducting “pain discovery” to uncover customer needs and proposing solutions that address those needs.
  • Delivering impactful demonstrations and managing the customer evaluation process through trials and proofs of concept.
  • Identifying and resolving technical objections during the sales process, working creatively with relevant teams to find solutions.
  • Crafting and presenting compelling proposals that outline how our solutions meet customer needs at all organizational levels, including executive decision-makers.
  • Estimating professional service efforts and developing project plans to ensure successful solution deployment.
  • Understanding competitive positioning to differentiate our offerings during the sales process.
  • Leveraging knowledge of the company portfolio to generate cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications include:

  • Residence in KSA or UAE.
  • A four-year degree in a technical field, preferably in Computer Science or IT.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in IT, technical presales, consultancy, development, or technical support.
  • At least 2 years of cybersecurity experience in areas such as DLP or Data Classification.
  • Strong oral presentation and public relations skills, with a capability to educate and train in a technical context.
  • Fluency in Arabic (native) with good English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experience in presales for a DLP vendor.
  • Hands-on experience with related cybersecurity technologies, including DLP, CASB, Email Gateways, Document Management, DRM/Encryption, and EDR solutions.
  • Security certifications like CISSP are advantageous.
  • Background in IT/security projects within large organizations.
