Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust configuration management processes tailored to the unique requirements of UAV systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive configuration documentation, including configuration baselines, specifications, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Identify and control configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and tracking.
- Administer the change control process for all proposed changes to UAV configurations, evaluating change requests and coordinating approvals.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment between design intent, manufacturing processes, and configuration documentation.
- Establish mechanisms for tracking and reporting the status of configuration items, including their current versions and locations.
- Stay abreast of relevant regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams and stakeholders on configuration management principles and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in configuration management within the aerospace, defense, or UAV industry for a minimum of 7 to 8 years.
- In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools. Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of managing complex configurations across multiple product lines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in configuration management software and tools, including experience with version control systems.
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, CMIIC) is a plus.
