Core Accountabilities:
- Deploy, configure, and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Ensure the network infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure to meet current and future demands.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Monitor network performance and availability using network management tools.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to network hardware and software.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, minimizing impact on business operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory of network assets and software licenses.
- Lead network-related projects from planning to execution.
- Collaborate with IT support staff and other departments to resolve issues and support organizational needs.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and best practices.
- Liaise with vendors for network devices purchases, upgrades, and support services.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, recommending enhancements for system efficiency.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network security administration or a related field.
- At least 3 years in a network management role for a mid-sized organization.
Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related fields.
- Certification in a relevant subject is preferred (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
- Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253, data classification, IPSEC, SSL, PKI, and other encryption-based technologies.
- Ability to demonstrate least privilege access.
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, NAC, firewalls, and WAPs.
- Advanced skills in network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Ability to automate network tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).
- Strong understanding of data security zones, data encryptors, and data diodes.
- Knowledge of Identity Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC).
- Familiarity with Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, Secure Configuration Management, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), CIS Benchmarks, and Risk Frameworks.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and Arabic is preferred.
