The position is responsible for studying and identifying improvement opportunities within Operations Excellence and providing subject matter expertise to optimize all related activities. The role involves designing and implementing process changes that enhance results, reduce costs, and eliminate waste. Additionally, it focuses on delivering continuous improvement initiatives to address process deficiencies through re-engineering interventions and corrective action plans, along with developing and implementing all technical training related to Operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the provision of awareness sessions on Operations Excellence and the implemented internal controls, policies, and procedures to Operations employees and partners.
- Identify and set standards of Operational Excellence to maximize the safe and reliable performance of company assets.
- Assess Operations performance against standards to instill confidence in operational status.
- Present business process optimization opportunities and operations improvement business cases to management and executives.
- Leverage expertise and resources from impacted areas to support and implement improvement initiatives.
- Communicate obstacles and challenges during projects and propose opportunities for process improvements.
- Manage change through communication, documentation, and training to ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Review and ensure the implementation of corrective action plans developed by Operations Process Re-engineering and process owners.
- Identify continuous improvement activities that deliver bottom-line risk reduction and savings, supporting the overall Operational Excellence program.
- Execute improvement activities that promote organizational changes and foster a culture of operational excellence.
- Lead and facilitate workshops focused on lean/process improvement to generate ideas and solutions.
- Coordinate with sites and various divisions regarding Operational Excellence and prepare for audits.
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders to cultivate a continuous improvement environment across the organization.
- Identify and eliminate unnecessary complexity in business processes to enhance value and efficiency.
- Assist in developing and executing a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy.
- Participate in the operational excellence program, identifying key opportunities and gaps in processes, and formulating improvement plans.
- Lead value stream mapping to measure performance and set future state targets aimed at eliminating waste, enhancing safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
- Ensure timely delivery of initiatives, providing regular updates to the leadership team on schedules and objective achievements.
Technical Training
- Develop, plan, and coordinate all technical and on-field training in compliance with Regulatory Authority requirements.
- Assure competence and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, JIG, EI 1530) and Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Mentor and coach employees, offering subject matter expertise for effective problem resolution.
- Define training needs in consultation with Operations leadership and Talent Development, in line with authority regulations specific to job profiles and competency matrices.
- Ensure employees are certified by assessing their knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical methods.
- Manage Competency and Drivers' Certificates for all staff and organize refresher training as required.
- Collaborate with Human Capital Development or Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Division for site-specific safety training, such as risk management and confined space operations.
- Provide technical knowledge and training on lean methods, including the development of effective visual management processes and workflows to meet business objectives.
- Serve as a resource for management by providing insights on legislation, trends, and issues in Operations Excellence.
- Oversee the delivery of internal technical training within the Operations Group, ensuring adherence to the approved Annual Training plan.
- Deliver external and cross-functional training as requested.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a continuous improvement role, preferably in the oil and gas retail industry.
- Professional certifications such as PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt are preferred.
- Willingness to work 50% outdoors.
