The SQL & Oracle DB Engineer at DXC Technology will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and providing operational support for Oracle and SQL Server database environments. This includes ensuring daily backups, patching, monitoring, and compliance with disaster recovery (DR) and security standards. The role involves managing SQL Server database environments to ensure their availability, security, and performance, as well as supporting backup, patching, and operational tasks for mission-critical business applications.

Responsibilities:
- Administer Oracle databases in test and production environments.
- Perform regular backups, restoration drills, and patch deployments.
- Monitor performance and resolve standard incidents and alerts.
- Maintain data replication and archival per policy.
- Assist in upgrades, migrations, and documentation updates.
- Implement high availability (AlwaysOn, clustering) and security.
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases (2016+).
- Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
- Monitor performance and implement tuning procedures.
- Create and manage jobs, alerts, and scheduled maintenance plans.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong hands-on with Oracle DB 12c/19c, RMAN, Data Pump.
- SQL tuning and PL/SQL scripting knowledge.
- Experience with backup and monitoring tools (OEM, TSM, or Commvault).
- Familiarity with disaster recovery, clustering, and basic Linux OS.
- Proficient in T-SQL, SSMS, and SQL Profiler.
- Experience in SQL Server HA/DR technologies.
- Familiar with monitoring tools and PowerShell automation.
- Awareness of IT compliance, auditing, and hardening.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically, 4+ years of relevant work experience in the industry, with a minimum of 1+ years in a similar role.
- Microsoft SQL Certifications (e.g., MCSA) preferred.
- OCA/OCP certification preferred.
- ITIL Foundation desirable.
